GAY OLD HOLLYWOOD

During lunch today, I thought I would read some bubble gum instead of my normal in-depth reading, so I picked up USA Today.

And then I found this – an article so full of unintended glimpses into the minds of our “top stars”, of Hollywood’s finest, I burst out laughing. It seems last week all of the in-crowd went to the 15th annual GLADD awards and bashed President Bush while at the same time prostrating themselves on the alter of gay marriage. I’ll let the article speak for itself:

“Christina Ricci, escorted down the red carpet by boyfriend Adam Goldberg, said she finds it "offensive and disgusting" that "somebody's pursuit of happiness, love and marriage has become such a huge political debate." The controversial issue, Goldberg added, will inspire them both to "vote even more Democratic than we usually vote."

Even more Democratic? What does that mean? They’ll vote twice? Where do they live, Chicago?

“Perennial GLAAD attendee Garry Marshall explained, "California is open to every lifestyle — except Republicans."

Very compassionate, Garry. You gotta love those “inclusive” Democrats.

“Some of the evening's biggest applause went to Sharon Osbourne ("My only regret in life is that none of my children are gay")...”

I’m not even going to comment on that other than to say, what would the GLADD crew say if Dick Cheney had said he his only regret was that his daughter wasn’t straight? And what do her kids think about that comment?

“Earlier, Morissette, sporting a shorter haircut, told USA TODAY her support of gay unions goes a step further than clever lyrics. She recently became ordained as a licensed minister via a quickie online course and said, "My fantasy would now be to marry some of my gay couple friends."

Ordained via a quickie online course? WHAT?!? Way to build a close and healthy relationship with God and a very educated one, too.

“Naughty gay filmmaker John Waters of Hairspray and Polyester fame was also honored. No stranger to gay weddings, Waters said his favorite involved a heterosexual Chicago couple who were wed in a gay commitment ceremony. "It was a fabulous post-modern idea," raved Waters.

"But the parents were really confused," he said”

A married couple…gay commitment ceremony…a "fabulous post-modern idea"… The parents aren’t the only one’s confused.
